Tuberin and Harmatin / hamartin interaction 'FRET'

Tuberin 'tag' dye identifier - Cyan Florecent Protein (CFP)
Harmatin / hamartin'tag' dye identifier - Yellow Florecent Protein (YFP)

Gene(s) associated to tuberous sclerosis (TSC) that encode the protein products hamartin /hamartin and tuberin, cause a mutation of the TSC gene(s), that leads to the development of the heritable disorder TSC.

This leads to a disorder and forms hamartomas in several organs in the body which has lead to the rapid spread of the lung disease called - lymphangioleiomyomatosis (LAM).

Research is on-going on how tuberin interaction in LAM affects LAM patients.
